Adams County

100th Anniversary Punch and Cake Social and Food Drive
1–7pm, Monday, May 12 at the Adams County Extension Office, 205 W Main, Ritzville, Wash.

Help us celebrate 100 years of Extension and our new “downtown” location! We welcome non-perishable snack for “weekend backpacks” to combat hunger in local youth.

Douglas County

100th Anniversary Open House
2:00-4:00pm, May 22 in the Douglas County Courthouse in Waterville, Wash.

This is an opportunity to hear about Extension programs, view history photos and visit with people who are Extension cooperators and program participants, according to Margaret Viebrock, WSU Douglas County Director. To continue the spirit of improving the quality of life for county residents, please bring a canned food or a non-perishable item for the Waterville Food Bank.

Ice Cream Social
12-4pm, Thursday, May 15 in the Public Service Building in Colfax, Wash.

Please bring a canned-food or non-perishable item for the Colfax Food Bank. Please bring a commemorative item for the 100th anniversary time capsule that will be displayed in the Public Service Building and later at the Palouse Empire Fair.

Solstice in the Garden Celebration

4-9pm Saturday, June 21 at the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden, 1620 S. Union, Kennewick, Wash.

We will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Extension and the Demonstration Garden as “the Place to Grow,” an ongoing service project for the Tri-Cities community to learn about gardening and plants. Join us for fun for the entire family, including garden tours, workshops, demonstrations, stories and activities for children, and more.

Lincoln/Adams County

“Know Your Food” Field Day and Centennial Celebration

11:30am-3:30pm June 21, at the WSU Wilke Farm, 39440 State Route 2 East, Davenport, Washington.

The event includes lunch featuring local ingredients, WSU Ferdinand’s ice cream, and giveaways. The cost is $12 per person or $20 per couple. WSU faculty and industry professionals will speak about where and how food is produced.
