4-H Events Calendar

Shooting Sports Training! @ Coeur d'Alene
Apr 25 – Apr 26 all-day

We are pleased to announce the following 2015 4-H Shooting Sports leader training opportunities, which have been endorsed by Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington 4-H.  Both events will be held the weekend of April 25-26 at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds in Coeur d’Alene, with registrations due by Friday, April 3, 2015.  A brief description of each program along with the link to the respective registration packet can be found below:


Beginning Level – This training is designed for 4-H leaders seeking their initial Shooting Sports certification in archery, hunting, pistol, rifle and/or shotgun.  Participants can obtain certification for one discipline in a single day or certification for two disciplines over the entire weekend; see


Advanced Archery – This training is designed for 4-H Shooting Sports leaders who have at least one year of experience since receiving their archery certification.  Participants will gain extensive knowledge and skills necessary to achieve USA Archery Level 2 certification; see


We welcome all interested 4-H volunteers from throughout Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington to join us for these dynamic training opportunities.  Any questions can be directed to Jim Wilson at or (208-446-1680).

Douglas County Demonstration Day @ Chelan County Extension Office
May 14 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Douglas County Demonstration Day!  Come and enlighten judges with your knowledge and information.  County Demonstration awards come from the county demonstration days, you can also qualify to go to State Fair in Puyallup!  Please RSVP to Michelle Lain.

NCW Animal Ownership Deadline for all animals (including horses and dogs), with the exception of Beef

All animals (sheep, swine, goat, horse, rabbit, poultry, dog, etc.) must have proof of ownership by today’s deadline.

Horse Clinic @ Appleatchee
May 16 all-day

This clinic is geared to be a great start to the 4-H season.  All levels and abilities are welcome.  This clinic will include performance, gaming, and trail classes to provide the maximum amount of practice in a safe, non-competitive environment.  If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Lain.

Shooting Sports Leader Training! @ Okanogan
May 29 – May 30 all-day

Okanogan County, in coordination with the State Shooting Sports Committee, will be hosting a Shooting Sports Training on May 29 & 30, in Okanogan, WA.  Disciplines covered will include Rifle, Archery, Pistol, and Shotgun.  Contact the WSU Okanogan County Extension office, 509-422-7245 with questions.

Bi-County Horse Schooling Show @ Appleatchee
May 30 all-day

This schooling show will include performance and gaming.  Performance will not count as a state qualifier.  Gaming will count as a state fair qualifier.  Please contact Michelle Lain with questions.
